Mammography

In mammography low level X-rays are used to get images of breasts in order to detect any abnormalities.

Ontario Breast Screening Program recommends screening starting at age 50 years with frequency of examination depending on findings at initial examination or in the follow up screenings until age 69 without any referrals from a physician.

However, the physicians are at liberty to refer any patient for mammography at any age outside OBSP if indicated.
